Frequently Asked Questions

Will I work directly with a licensed CPA?

Yes. Every engagement is overseen by Marc Boulanger, CPA. Team members may assist with document handling, but strategy and communications with the IRS, FTB, CDTFA, and EDD are CPA-led.

Do you handle CDTFA, IRS/FTB, and EDD audit defense?

Yes. We focus on audit and enforcement matters: CDTFA sales & use tax audits, IRS/FTB income-tax audits, and EDD payroll audits & Trust Fund Recovery Penalty issues—plus high-stakes collections such as levies, liens, and garnishments.

Are you a virtual firm or can we meet in person?

Both. We’re based in Orange County and serve clients across California via secure portal and Zoom, with in-person meetings available by appointment at our Orange office.

How does your pricing work?

Flat-fee only—no hourly billing. Collections(IRS/FTB) are typically quoted after a Phase 1 review and fall in the $3,500–$7,500 range for implementation. Audit defense(IRS, FTB, CDTFA, EDD) is more complex and generally ranges from $7,500–$12,500+ for full representation after Phase 1.

Why is Phase 1 required before a full quote?

You can’t price a fix until you understand the problem. Phase 1 confirms compliance, risks, document quality, and—in audits—the agency’s methods (sampling, markup ratios, card/deposit tests, payroll testing). That lets us deliver an accurate flat-fee for Phase 2 and avoid surprises.

Do you take every case?

No. We limit caseload to maintain responsiveness and quality. Most clients have $25,000+ at risk or are facing active audits/enforcement. If we’re not the best fit, we’ll tell you up front.
